A truly unique community resource, the Louisville Nature Center
offers wonderful opportunities for nature study and recreation--right in the heart of the city!
Among our unique features are a native wildflower garden and pond, butterfly gardens, a one-of-a-kind bird blind, wildlife exhibits, and Beargrass Creek watershed exhibit.
The Library at LNC is a great place to do research and spend some time indoors when the weather is too hot, cold, or rainy to study nature outside. Books related to all aspects of nature are available, including: field guides to trees, butterflies, birds and other animals; backyard nature exploration; gardening; archives of local and national environmental reports; literature by authors like Bill McKibbon and Rachel Carson; and, at-home science projects.
The Nature Center's meeting room can be rented as a unique meeting place for groups!
Our mission is to provide nature education and encourage stewardship in an urban forest. We look forward to your next visit!
RAIN BARRELS ARE AVAILABLE AT LOUISVILLE NATURE CENTER
Rain barrels collect, store, and divert rooftop runoff during a rain event. They are good for the environment and help save money on your water bill. Through a generous donation from MSD, the Louisville Nature Center has rain barrels available for $70 each, or $65 each for two or more. The barrels come already assembled with a spigot and overflow tube. Best of all, you can pick up your barrel right here at LNC. Call us at 458-1328 for more inforamtion.
One hundred percent of the proceeds will go toward helping LNC continue its mission.
