Camp Information
Campers will need to be able to use the bathroom and maintain appropriate self-control independently. Our experience has been that some of the campers need help with the bathroom from time to time. We have also, in the past had to accommodate campers in other ways that require close contact (wiping noses, cleaning faces, etc). We will still try to accommodate your child as best as possible, but we will reserve the right to send your child home in the event that they can not take care of their own needs, within reason. This will include the use of face masks when indoors as recommended by the Governor and CDC at that time.
Camp will be divided into ages 4-5, 6-7, 8-10. Our camper-counselor ratio is 6:1. Each group will have the same counselors the entire week, with volunteers/interns floating around to assist as needed. All of our employees, volunteers and interns must pass a background check and our counselors are CPR/First Aid Certified. If your child is enrolled in before or aftercare there is a possibility of them mixing with children or adults from the other group.
We will not be serving snacks or lunches. Campers will need to bring all their own food and drinks. Campers will not be allowed to share food.
We will spend the entire day outside, except for bathroom breaks and in the event of extreme weather. Please make sure your child is prepared to be outside in the weather predicted for the day. Raincoats, sunscreen, sun hats, etc. are all highly recommended.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact Olivia Kaiser, Education Programs Manager, at Olivia@louisvillenaturecenter.org.
