About Us
The Louisville Nature Center strives to teach people about the natural world and provide a place where people can enjoy nature—without even leaving the city.
Located across the street from the Louisville Zoo and adjacent to Joe Creason Park, our facilities include:
A Sensory Garden complete with plants and other features to see, smell, touch, and hear
A Rain Garden with native plants whose roots absorb rainwater from the roof into the ground.
A Nature Play Area for kids to engage in imaginative play
A Bird Blind where visitors can view birds at the feeders through one-way tinted glass
A Nature Library for quiet study and viewing of terrarium specimens
LNC also manages the Beargrass Creek State Nature Preserve, 41 acres of urban forest with nearly two miles of public trails.
No pets allowed on trail.
Admission to the Nature Center is always free.
